Launching at the Berlin International Film Festival, the 2008 volume will be a special double edition presenting the films and festivals of 2006 and 2007. Written by expert local correspondents, the book assesses the cinematic output of over 100 countries via specially commissioned critical reviews, which report on features, documentaries and shorts, as well as new trends and industry developments.

UK Launch Event

Wallflower Press is hosting a special screening of Fatih Akin's latest feature, The Edge of Heaven at the Curzon Soho on 28 February. After the screening, Ian Haydn Smith, and former Edinburgh Film Festival Director, Shane Danielsen, will lead a discussion about the film and recent resurgence of German cinema before a celebratory wine reception in the Curzon Soho bar.
