Like most teenage boys, Robot Jones attends school, does his homework, hangs out with his friends and has a crush on a girl. Unlike most teenagers, he's only 3 feet 8 inches, weighs 500 pounds and has a 9,468 mega-volt memory.
Robot Jones is a young robot trying to cope with life, fit in with humans and, most imporantly, survive adolescence.
Robot Jones is having a tough time...he's shy, awkward and about to start at a new school. On top of that, he's discovering new things every day, like his attraction to girls. As a super-intelligent being, Robot Jones is a tad overeager about showing off his prowess in the classroom. When things get him down (he is also programmed with basic human emotions) he seeks comfort by sticking with his own kind, often the closest vending machine or vacuum cleaner.
While at school Robot Jones stands out because he is a robot. At home, his basic human skills programming causes him to have problems relating to hs parental units, including his Dad, KC-213. Robot Jones' Dad is an older model robot who doesn't always understand his free-thinking robot son.
Robot Jones' Mom, JUN-77, balances the fine line between protecting her son and trying to push him out of the proverbial nest. While she des not understand some of her son's progarmming, she tried her best to be supportive. Although Mom embarrases Robot from time to time, he knows she has her best interests in her CPU.
Timothy Morton, known to everyone as Socks, is Robot Jones' best friend. He's tall, lanky and, sadly, a bit smelly. Socks could not be more different from Robot Jones but they share a bond as outsiders. Because Robot is so naive about how things works at Polyneux Middle School, Socks frequently finds himself explaining a lot of human behaviour. Socks is also quick to cover for the antics of his robot friend.
Upon meeting Shannon Westerburg, Robot Jones is impressed with her "efficient design" and "high metal content". He's instantly smitten! Shannon, who wears a massive piece of orthodontic headgear and walks with the assistance of an artificial leg is not quite sure of what to make of the stammering pile of servos standing before her. In fact, despite Robot's awkwards attempts at fostering a relationship, Shannon seems oblivious to his attention.
The Yogman twins are science and maths geniuses determined to take over the world, starting with Polyneux Middle School's AV department. The arrival of Robot Jones, however, throws a kink in their plans. All the one-time followers of the twins now find the "new kid" a fascinating example of science fiction comes to life. So the Yogmans, who always wear matching outfits, create schemes to get even with Robot Jones.
