Feature-length animated movie. Mrs. Brisby and her family of field mice must move to a safe location before the farmer plows the field where they live. However, her invalid son Timmy suffers from pneumonia and cannot go outside. She enlists the aid of some highly intelligent, escaped lab rats, led by the wise Nicodemus, but things become complicated when some of the rats decide to use the situation as a cover to kill their leader.
