BOOMERANG SNIFFS OUT THE NATIONS CUTEST, BRAVEST AND MOST UNUSUAL PETS WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE FIRST EVER

PET PERSONALITY AWARDS!

Boomerang is launching the purrfect summer competition to inspire kids to take pride in their pets and learn how to take better care of them. The inaugural Pet Personality Awards gets underway from 1st July on www.boomerangtv.co.uk/awards and gives kids the opportunity to put their pet forward for one of the categories and be in with the chance of having their pet animated for a new show.

Kids who want to take part upload a photograph or video of their pet to the relevant category. All the entries are put to a public online vote, and the top three nominees in each category get to bring themselves – and their pet! – to a lavish awards ceremony in Regents Park on 13th September. Winners will be announced at the awards, and all the top three nominees for each category (excluding Best Virtual Pet and Best Animal Impression) go into a subsequent draw for the grand ‘Pet Personality’ award, the winner of which has the honour of having their pet animated in a brand new Cartoon Network show next year.

With the help of Boomerang’s very own collective of pet personalities, each of the award categories will be fronted by characters including Scooby-Doo, Garfield, Tweetie, Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry.

All is not lost for those without a pet as the awards kick off with the launch of a downloadable virtual pet. The cyber dog will have to be looked after and points are accumulated for the best looked after virtual pet, there’s even a category for Best Animal Imitation where kids can upload videos.

THE SCOOBY-DOO AWARD FOR THE FUNNIEST PET

THE TOM AND JERRY AWARD FOR THE ODDEST PET COUPLE
