Joining Freakazoid! in his attempts to outwit his half-wit foes - The Lobe, Candle Jack and Cave Guy - are his associates from the superhero world; Lord Bravery, The Huntsman, Fanboy, Toby Danger, The Lawn Gnomes, Foamy the Freakdog, Hero Boy, and the visitor from beyond the stars, Mo-Ron not forgetting his female counterpart, Freakazette.

In quite an unusual circumstance, after auditioning literally hundreds of talented voice-over artists, Steven Spielberg, along with other members of the creative team on the series, decided that Rugg was the most capable person to perform Freakazoid!.
· Edward Asner, 5 times Emmy Award winning actor best known for his comedic and dramatic portrayal of journalist Lou Grant voices Freakazoid’s pal Sergeant Cosgrove.

Freakazoid! aka Dexter Douglas
Dexter Douglas is a mild-mannered teenager who, one snowy afternoon in Washington DC, while logged onto the Internet, becomes involved in a pileup on the information superhighway and is transformed into an electrifying superhero Freakazoid - the humorous personification of information overload. His synapses constantly misfire, sending his thoughts and ideas streaking in various comic directions. Confronted with his silliness, villains are left completely dumbfounded.
Announcer
As narrator of "Steven Spielberg Presents Freakazoid!” The Announcer puts Freakazoid through his paces at each and every turn. Of course, since no one can predict what Freakazoid will do next, The Announcer is not always in sync with our superhero.
Sgt. Cosgrove
Sergeant Cosgrove is one of Freakazoid's best buddies with whom he shares a fondness for the banal, such as visiting places like the Museum of Spackle or the world's largest free-standing beef jerky.
Steph
This "All-American Girl Next Door" has a terrible crush on Freakazoid, unaware that he and her classmate Dexter are one and the same.
The Lobe
Freakazoid's number one nemesis The Lobe is a brilliant arch villain with a very low sense of self-esteem, the body of a man and the head of a brain.
Mrs. Douglas
Mrs. Douglas (Dexter's mom) is totally unaware that her son is Freakazoid. She is also unaware that Eisenhower is no longer President.
Mr. Douglas
Dexter's father, Mr. Douglas, is a car salesman who believes a goblin lives in his gas tank.
Armondo Guitierrez
Guitierrez is the brilliant, evil CEO of the Apex Microchip Company. He is obsessed with finding the code that unlocks the path to the heart of the Internet where Dexter Douglas became Freakazoid.
Duncan Douglas
Dexter's older brother Duncan is a bully who takes great pleasure in taking advantage of his younger sibling whenever the opportunity arises.
Longhorn
An arch criminal, and quite possibly the worst country and western singer in the world, Longhorn was at one time a man but later in life was transformed by a doctor into a …..(tune in to find out!)
Lord Bravery
Lord Bravery, is a neophyte crime fighter who toils in obscurity in London while waiting for that one big rescue that will give him the recognition as a superhero he feels he deserves.
Cave Guy
The most dangerous of villains, he is a highly intelligent Neanderthal who when not reading The New Yorker enjoys persecuting defenceless people.
Candle Jack
Candlejack is really the ‘Boogie Man’ who can steal away the unwary at the mention of his name.
The Huntsman
An extremely capable but frustrated superhero with a penchant for hickory cakes, he is unable to find work because he has cleaned up all the crime in his city.
Fan Boy
Fan Boy is president of the Freakazoid! fan club and a pain in Freakazoid's side. He is a teenage master of useless entertainment trivia.
